Attendees of the 2022 Quanta Symposium
The Quanta CREATE program is an exclusive graduate training program in emerging quantum technologies that focuses on developing innovation, management, and entrepreneurship skills.
The Quanta CREATE program trains graduate students in emerging quantum technologies while developing innovation, management, and entrepreneurship skills. Quanta graduates are prepared to found and advance quantum technology companies, ensuring Canada’s central role in leading the Quantum Age.
In the next decade, we will see disruptive new technologies emerge, such as:
- quantum computing,
- quantum cryptography,
- possibly even a quantum internet.
Though it remains to be seen which Quantum Age technologies will dominate; one thing is certain: society will need highly trained physicists and engineers capable of leading these advances, both in academic and industrial settings.
This unique graduate program produces highly skilled scientists who are able to revolutionize the information and communications sector through new quantum technologies, both by leading research and development in established industries and by starting new companies of their own. Quanta trainees emerge with both the technical skills and the business acumen to be leaders of Canada’s innovation economy.
The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) administrates the Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) grant to support the development of innovative graduate training programs with the aim to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, address scientific challenges associated with Canada’s research priorities, and to facilitate the introduction of highly-skilled, productive employees into the Canadian workforce.
